About Out & Equal, www.outandequal.org

We are a national non-profit organization headquartered in San Francisco and proud to be a strategic partner with the United Way of the Bay Area. We are the pre-eminent organization devoted to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community in workplace settings. Our goal is to provide services and programs that promote equality for all individuals, especially the LGBT community, families, and allies, in the workplace. We also have a focus on corporate responsibility which is why we are sponsoring this panel topic.

Corporate Sponsorship of Athletes Panel

Interested in why corporations sponsor athletes and events? Want to know how they make their decisions? Does it matter if you're LGBT? This panel will enlighten us on these and other questions.

Speakers include:

  • Selisse Berry (moderator), Executive Director, Out & Equal Workplace Advocates
  • Kevin Jones, Out & Equal Governing Board Member and Co-coordinator of the GLBT Diversity Network Group at Citigroup
  • Dr. Brenda G. Pitts, Georgia State University, Sport Business Research Center, "Sponsorship Recognition, Brand Management, and Intent to Purchase: Sponsors of Lesbian and Gay Sports Events Receive Unusually High Support From Event Attendees."
  • Mark Malinowski, SVP/Director, Ketchum Entertainment Marketing, has been involved with numerous sports marketing campaigns
