Being a non-profit 501(c)3 charity, we exist to serve
the best interests of the public community that we are
all a part of. Our intent in setting our registration
fees is to make it most affordable such that the most
people in our community are able to attend and reap the
benefits of idea exchange, while balancing the fact that
the conference costs money to hold. To the best that we
can, we are negotiating with corporate sponsors to
effectively help offset and underwrite as much of these
costs as possible. Your honest answers to
our survey will help us justify
this spending from our corporate sponsors. Our
foundation is also supported by donors and members of
the Ultimate Sports Club,
please help us
connect to
them.
The tax-deductible registration fee was
reduced to $150
to simplify costs and an additional option of $100 for a
Sat-only pass was added. The costs includes food,
panels, exposition, massage, clinics, sports actitivies.
A pass to the new MIT gym is $5. Discounts for
students is 50% being $75 (3-day) and $50
(1-day). If you would still like to attend and have
difficulty with the registration fee, please
contact us
and we will accommodate. Our goal is
firstly be able to hold the conference -- doesn't need
to be fancy. Considering what you might normally spend
on meals for a weekend out, and what you might even
spend on the single New Year's Eve dinner, this could be
a bargain for many -- but of course, not everyone has
this luxury, for those that do, please consider
donating your good fortune.
Please realize that if we do not reach our corporate
sponsorship goals, we may have to trim the bells and
whistles of the conference.
We also understand that a majority of our attendees
will be coming from all over the world and thus will be
incurring additional expenses, so we have
negotiated discounted airfares and
hotel rooms, and help you find
hosted housing. If we
need to pare back on the fanciful, we hope you
understand our position. We appreciate your patience.
Together, we will all make this conference one to
remember.
We are all volunteers working on the
conference and have been putting our own "sweat and
tears" to give to the community we are all a part of --
to seed the foundation, we've even taken money out of
our own pockets and credit cards -- we believe and we
thank you for joining us. Our focus is on the collective
gain for our athletics community and for society at
large. Thanks from all of us Board
members, Steering Committee members, and over 60+
members of the Athletics Advisory Board.
NOTE: Additionally, we were initially holding
Sunday's activities at Harvard University but due to
logistical and budgetary constraints, we have had to
hold all activities at MIT. Regardless, we are fortunate
to have the support of Harvard's Athletics Department
and thank them for being patient with us as we worked
through this process.
