Sociology of Sport Panel
This panel is the culmination of many topics at the conference. It is on
the intersection of diversity in sports programs, and how the LGBT angle could
be used as the "lens" or "mirror" on greater diversity for all sport -- the
sociology of sports in society. Panel topics include the role of sports in
society, it's affects/ramifications, benefits, affects on youth/adults,
business, etc. How about the fact that many gay sports organizations have a
growing population of straight allies that are also on their teams.
